Introduction

Chevron Phillips Chemical (CPChem) is seeking an Instrument/Electrical Maintenance Supervisor to join our Operations & Maintenance team in the Ethylene Unit at the new Golden Triangle Polymers facility. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise and play a key role in the design, startup, and long-term operation of a world-class plant built from the ground up. The successful candidates will champion safe work practices, demonstrate strong leadership skills, and work effectively with others. They will be self-starters with above-average computer proficiency and the ability to learn new systems quickly.

 

During the construction phase, these positions will be actively involved in developing maintenance programs and processes required for an operating facility. Following startup, responsibilities will transition into a traditional maintenance leadership role focused on supporting reliable operations and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that established safety goals are attained
  • Reviewing applicable SMP’s with craftsmen prior to executing work
  • Participating in the development of quality job plans by working with planners and participating in field walk through
  • Supporting budget development and managing actual costs to meet budget target
    Coordinating with planning staff
  • Utilizing SAP systems to improve reliability, cost tracking, planning and scheduling

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma/GED with at least 10 years of related experience OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with at least 5 years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Hands-on maintenance experience with instrumentation and electrical systems, such as flow, pressure, temperature, and vibration indicators; electrical switchgear; uninterruptible power supplies; motors; and protective relays.
  • Strong understanding of industry codes and standards, including IEEE, NFPA, API, and related guidelines.
  • Experience in maintenance planning, including scheduling and resource coordination.
  • Background as a skilled craftsman or engineer, with practical field knowledge.
  • Proven supervisory experience, managing teams and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Familiarity with SAP, specifically Material Management and Plant Maintenance modules.
  • Exposure to large-scale (mega) projects, with demonstrated ability to manage complexity and deliver results.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining Process Safety Management (PSM) standards and CPChem Required Manufacturing Standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
