Introduction
Join CPC-Plastics Resins as a skilled Machinist, where precision, expertise, and a proactive approach to maintenance are essential. This position, based in Orange within our Manufacturing & Projects division, plays a vital role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our plant equipment. As a valued member of our Operations and Maintenance team, you will leverage your technical skills to contribute to the smooth and safe operation of our manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities
- Provides installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of plant equipment or systems
- Conducts preventative maintenance programs and keep maintenance records
- Uses the Work Order system to track hours, parts and supplies, and equipment history
- Maintains adequate stock of consumable parts, cutting tips, cutters, grinding wheels
- Measures and documents dimensions during operations and maintains machine logbooks
- Interprets technical drawings and blueprints to produce parts that meet specifications
- Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external customers
- Follows engineering setup charts to perform initial assembly of tools
- Immediately reports all ES&H incidents including injuries, near misses, releases
- Maintains familiarity, and comply with all corporate and site Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) policies and procedures
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 3+ years of related experience troubleshooting and repairs of centrifugal, reciprocating, and other turbo machinery equipment OR Horizontal and Vertical Lathes, Mills, Broaching Machines, and Balancing Equipment, etc.
- Understanding of safety issues in a hazardous environment
- Proficient at blueprint reading, planning, and organizing job functions
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and product manuals to repair equipment or fabricate new parts
- Ability to operate a forklift, JLG, or other motorized equipment
- Be flexible in ability to change current work assignment
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Apprenticeship Certificate or technical certification or associate degree related to maintenance machine shop / turbomachinery
- Compressor valve/high-pressure packing repair/mechanical experience
- Experience with the repair of Valves Actuators to include Pneumatic piston
- Prior failure mode analysis training is a plus
- Computer Skills (SAP, MS Word and Excel)
- Pump Mechanic Experience
