Introduction
Chevron Phillips Chemical is seeking a qualified individual to join our team as a Maintenance Specialist for the Golden Triangle Polymers facility, a greenfield project, located in Orange, TX that will be operated by Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP. This is an exciting opportunity to utilize your experience and be part of a team contributing to the build, startup, and operation of a brand-new petrochemical facility.
This position will be responsible for executing Operational Readiness Plan tasks and supporting Commissioning and Start-up activities, to ensure the plant build and start-up result in safe, reliable, and maintainable operations. Following unit startup, the job functions will transition to a more traditional role characterized by normal plant operations.
Responsibilities
- Examines objects, systems, or facilities and analyze information to determine needed installations, services, or repairs
- Coordinates planned maintenance and complex troubleshooting and repair activities in accordance with established safety procedures
- Uses schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions or defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components, equipment or systems
- Sets, calibrates, or adjusts equipment, machinery, and instruments so that it aligns with production specifications or instructions
- Determines when and what kind of maintenance is needed
- Inspects, tests, and measures completed work, using devices such as hand tools or gauges to verify conformance to standards or repair requirements
- Inspects and monitor work areas, examine tools and equipment, and provide employee safety training to prevent, detect, and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and safety rules
- Participates in emergency response roles and training
- Maintains general knowledge of site/location/equipment/specific permits and compliance
- Completes assigned reports, logs and maintains accurate records of process operations and performance of preventative maintenance on equipment
- Interfacing and overseeing safety, quality and efficiency of 3rd party contractors
Assists with new installations and other projects, as requested by supervisor
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 5 years’ industrial maintenance experience
- The ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams and blueprints
- A valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Industry Codes and Standards such as ASME, API, etc.
- Previous maintenance planning experience
- Prior experience as a craftsman
- Prior supervisory experience (temporary upgrade positions are acceptable alternatives).
- A working knowledge of the SAP PM module, specifically notification/work order management and material requisitions.
- Project planning and execution experience.
- Experience in maintenance and repair of industrial process equipment such as towers, drums, exchangers, furnaces, piping systems and their components.
- Ability to plan, organize, and complete assigned projects and equipment repairs in a safe and timely manner.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
