Introduction

Join our team in Pasadena as a Tester within the Technical & EHSS division. This is a key role within the Manufacturing & Projects strategic business unit, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to the quality and consistency of our plastic resin products. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to support laboratory operations through precise analytical testing and data management. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that all materials meet rigorous standards, thereby supporting innovation and excellence in production.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with sample preparation for all areas of the laboratory as required
  • Maintains accurate testing records and documentation.
    Supports the ordering, receiving, and shipping of raw materials and samples
  • Assembles test materials and equipment
  • Performs laboratory testing under supervision
  • Follows all work instructions and work order protocols
  • Maintains working knowledge of analytical instruments
    Is responsible for general laboratory clean-up and other general lab duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Chemistry, Laboratory Technician, or related technical field from an accredited college.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision after initial on-the-job training
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with a high level of focus and attention to detail
  • Ability to operate, trouble-shoot and maintain highly specialized instruments/equipment and software
  • Excellent computer skills and a familiarity with standard Microsoft products
  • The ability to demonstrate Chevron Phillips Chemical Company’s Leadership Elements. Specifically, A high level of personal integrity, professionalism, and a team-oriented approach

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience working in an analytical laboratory
  • Knowledge and experience with: Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), Quality Management Systems, Good Documentation Practices, and Good Laboratory Practices
