Introduction
We are seeking a highly motivated Services Supervisor to lead our shipping and quality operations team in Startex, South Carolina. This role is responsible for driving a strong culture of safety, quality, and accountability while ensuring reliable and efficient daily operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to team development, operational excellence, and continuous improvement, serving as a key leader on shift.
In this position, you will model our company culture through a focus on safety, collaboration, and performance. You will guide and support operators, oversee shipping and quality activities, and ensure adherence to established procedures and standards. The Services Supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining productivity, managing resources effectively, and addressing operational challenges to meet business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Model CPChem culture (safety, ICARE, quality).
- Responsible for leading safe and reliable operations.
- Drive employee training and development process and assess operator skills.
- Responsible for driving team accountability in collaboration with site management and HR for disciplinary action items.
- Execute safe and efficient product changeovers, line startups, and maximize production rates.
- Ensure compliance with all policies and practices.
- Ensure productivity and efficiency metrics are met.
- Responsible to operate within production schedule.
- Responsible for accurate reporting of finished goods, scrap, downtime, and material usage.
- Responsible for troubleshooting process and equipment issues and reporting equipment malfunctions to the maintenance team.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in pipe production operations and 2 years as Lead Operator or 3 years of Supervisory experience.
- Must possess the ability to lead people respectfully and cooperatively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrates and actively promotes ICARE principles in all daily interactions.
- Proven ability to enhance working conditions, including safety, quality, and productivity, while developing team members’ skills and capabilities.
- Experience coordinating day-to-day production or operational needs effectively.
- Ability to monitor absenteeism and manage timekeeping processes with accuracy.
- Proficiency in BMDES system functions.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
- Flexibility to be on call 24/7, as business needs require.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated strong organizational and administrative capabilities.
- Strong team orientation with a collaborative mindset.
