Introduction
Americas Polyethylene is seeking a sales representative for the Eastern Region responsible for the sales and marketing of polyethylene resins for customers located in the Midwest and Northeast of the US and eastern part of Canada to include Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine and Delaware.
Sales Representative will be required to live in the territory, Detroit, MI, or Cincinnati, OH. Total territory sales volume is >150 MM lbs. with multiple opportunities to increase resin sales to new target customers with resin produced from CPChem’s PE assets.
The successful candidate must reside within the assigned territory, with a preference for candidates located in Detroit, Michigan, or Cincinnati, Ohio. The position requires regular travel throughout the region to support customers, identify growth opportunities, and strengthen CPChem's market presence.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage customer relationships on a day-to-day basis, serving as the primary commercial contact for accounts within the assigned territory.
- Learn and utilize CRM and commercial systems to maintain accurate customer, pricing, sales, and activity information.
- Support the preparation of customer demand forecasts, account plans, sales reports, and other commercial analytics.
- Participate in customer visits, virtual meetings, industry events, and trade association activities to build commercial knowledge and industry awareness.
- Support product line initiatives, customer development opportunities, and commercial projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Technical/Engineering or related field required.
- Ability to learn customer needs, understand product applications, and support the development of practical commercial solutions.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on commitments.
- Demonstrated curiosity, learning agility, accountability, and willingness to build foundational commercial and industry knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA is highly desirable.
- 1-2 years of prior industry experience preferred.
- Proven commercial and/or sales experience with a track record of driving revenue growth and customer engagement.
- Product line management, product marketing, or specialized product sales experience is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to develop strategic customer relationships and successfully close business opportunities.
