The Borger IT Supervisor leads a team of three IT Analysts and is responsible for all IT project and support activities performed at the Borger Plant. This position reports to the CPChem IT Manufacturing Systems Manager, with a dotted line reporting relationship to the Borger Plant Manager.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a member of the Borger Plant Leadership Team to communicate IT related matters and identify opportunities where IT solutions can enhance plant safety, productivity and efficiency.
  • Manage a team of three exempt IT Analysts and one desktop support contractor.
  • Oversee activities of IT vendors and contractors.
  • Proactively maintain the availability of IT resources at the plant and drive for efficiency improvements in IT processes.
  • Provide timely and accurate updates to Management when IT issues arise. 
  • Develop good working relationships with other groups within the plant and the IT organization.  
  • Manage ICS Security in alignment with company standards and priorities, working closely with the ICS Security Manager and the local Manufacturing Measurements and Controls team.
  • Develop and manage IT capital projects.
  • Work with other sites to develop and implement corporate IT best practices.
  • Manage a yearly expense and capital budget within plant and corporate guidelines.
  • Anticipate communication and networking problems and implement preventive measures.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in an IT related field.
  •  1-3 years of experience in a supervisory / team lead position preferred.
  • Associates degree required, four-year technical degree preferred. 
  • Experience supporting IT systems in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Proven analytical, problem-solving, and technical abilities.
  • Experience reducing cybersecurity risks on the business and Industrial Control Systems network preferred.
  • Is self-motivated, energetic and possesses a strong work ethic. Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to develop and maintain in a team-oriented, collaborative work environment.
  • Very strong customer service orientation.
  • Able to effectively prioritize and execute multiple projects. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

 

Work Conditions:

  • Employee must meet various unique safety training requirements. This will include the wearing of Personal Protective Equipment such as FRC’s, hardhat, and safety glasses in certain plant locations.
  • The successful candidate must be able to work in a chemical plant environment.
  • Travel (5%) will be required. Most travel is in the Houston area.
  • Will be responsible for 24/7 callout on critical issues.
