This position is responsible for the leadership, management and safe work execution of the following teams at Pasadena Plastics Complex:  Instrument & Electrical Engineering; Control Systems Engineering; Control, Analyzer & Radio/Alarm Technicians; Instrument & Electrical craftsmen.  Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead the development and implementation of a department wide strategic improvement plan.
  • Drive continual improvements in IEC equipment reliability plan
  • Ensure the optimization of and lifecycle planning for multiple DCS and PLC control systems.
  • Coordinate the design, specification and services related to control and automation systems.
  • Delegate the evaluation and implementation of emerging technologies for process automation and control.
  • Facilitate project administration responsibilities include using the CPDEP (project planning & execution) process, project appropriation approval, technical design/approval, contract approval, communicating with Operations and Management on project benchmarks, supervising consultants and support personnel, project commissioning/start-up, successful training and implementation of advanced control strategies and optimizers with Operations.
  • Support of existing process control and automation applications.
  • Coordinate the maintenance, support and troubleshooting of hardware and software for multiple control, automation, analytical systems and Instrument & Electrical controls.
  • Discipline engineering and design for capital and expense projects.
  • Instrument and electrical support of manufacturing units.
  • Ensure the maintenance, support and troubleshooting of electrical power distribution systems.
  • Training and development for all IE&C Engineering personnel. 




  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 7 + years of related industry experience
  • 2 + years of supervisory experience of people responsible for ANSI/ISA S84 SIS design and lifecycle management in a manufacturing plant
  • Ability to multi-task and possess good organization and time-management skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills and demonstrated ability to interact well with others.
  • Knowledge of Honeywell TDC 3000 and Emerson PROVOX control systems, Triconex TMR, PLCs, instrumentation and controls, and electrical up to 138 kV
  • Ability to work effectively with Operations, Engineering and plant management
  • Ability to communicate complex technical solutions and concepts to other engineers and non-engineers (peers, manager, vendors, consultants, and customers)
