Chevron Phillips is currently seeking Maintenance Specialists to join the Manufacturing located at the Cedar Bayou facility in Baytown, TX. The Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the coordination and support of daily and long term maintenance, expense projects, and turnaround activities.


This position is eligible for either the 9/80 work schedule or 4/10 work schedule.


⦁    Ensuring that established safety goals are attained
⦁    Maintaining and supporting the employee safety process
⦁    Leading or participating on incident investigation teams
⦁    Interacting with work permitting process as needed and ensuring that all applicable safety procedures and other safe work practices are followed
⦁    Reviewing applicable SMP’s with craftsmen prior to executing work
⦁    Participating in the development of quality job plans by working with planners and participating in field walk through
⦁    Interfacing and overseeing safety, quality and efficiency of 3rd party contractors
⦁    Ensuring maintenance activities are focused on plant reliability improvements
⦁    Developing and executing equipment reliability strategies


Required Qualifications

⦁    High School diploma/GED 
⦁    7+ years of related experience in the Petrochemical or Refining Industry in operations or mechanical maintenance 
⦁    Computer Skills (i.e. SAP, MS Word & Excel, database experience)
⦁    Working knowledge of Industry Codes and Standards such as ASME, API, etc 
⦁    Excellent written and verbal skills
⦁    A self-starter who can work with minimal supervision  
⦁    Ability to prioritize work to align with goals
⦁    Proven leadership and administrative abilities
⦁    Understanding of safety issues in a hazardous environment 
⦁    Ability to establish respectful relationships with team members at all levels
⦁    Ability to meet deadlines 
⦁    Exceptional problem-solving skills


Preferred Qualifications

⦁    Previous supervisory experience
⦁    Management of contractors (i.e. turnarounds, outages, etc) experience
