Purpose/Introduction

We are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Planner to join the team at the Sweeny/Old Ocean Complex located in Sweeny, Texas.  This position will be responsible for developing planned work packages specifically for Mechanical Craft personnel.  The successful candidate will work closely with operations and maintenance to ensure safe and efficient execution of planned maintenance activities.

This position offers the opportunity to work in a team environment and will require direct coordination with the Planners, Production Maintenance Coordinators (PMC), and Maintenance Supervisors.  In addition, this position will backfill for other planners on an as needed basis.  The successful candidate will be an advocate for safe work and housekeeping practices, will possess basic computer skills, will be a self-starter, and capable of working and communicating effectively with others. 

Responsibilities

  • Advocate for safety by taking a proactive approach in RAPTOR and Safety Tracker programs
  • Applies Tenets and supports safety related processes as core value
  • Develop maintenance job plans, schedules, and estimates using SAP
  • Make field inspections and determines appropriate job work scopes
  • Maintaining accurate BOM’s in SAP
  • Analyzes the physical job to be performed and determines the most safe, efficient and effective way to accomplish the task.

Responsibilities (continued)

  • Create, use and maintain plant history and other technical files to include information in current job plans to anticipate and avoid job delays.
  • Develops detailed job plans including items such as manpower, equipment, materials, comprehensive specifications, cost/time completion estimates and other resources necessary to complete the task.
  • Perform purchasing duties as required.
  • Ensures that the necessary materials, supplies, equipment and other resources for each job plan are available.
  • May perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned. 

 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED. 
  • Must have at least 10 years of mechanical experience in a chemical/refining environment OR at least 3 years mechanical planning and scheduling experience in a chemical/refining environment. 
  • Experience coordinating the execution of mechanical job plans and schedules. 
  • Basic computer skills Microsoft Office (including Outlook).
  • Must demonstrate excellent leadership, communication, written, and verbal skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of experience using SAP.
