Purpose/Introduction

Chevron Phillips is currently seeking an Applications Analyst / SAP Supply Chain Analyst to join the Business Transformation organization located in The Woodlands, TX headquarters location. Information Technology at Chevron Phillips Chemical leads our Digital Journey.  The department is chartered to enable a smarter enterprise, establish a connected workforce, optimize access to key information and support our growing company. The Applications Analyst / SAP Supply Chain Analyst is responsible for the configuration, exploitation, and support of the technology solutions that support the area of Supply Chain at Chevron Phillips Chemical, which includes the primary focus of the SAP Sales and Distribution Module, and a secondary focus on Transportation, Global Trade Services, Production Planning, Quality Management, as well as custom-built Supply Chain applications on the SAP Enterprise Portal and our Pricing System management application, Vendavo.

 

This position is eligible for the current hybrid work model (split of remote and office-based days).

Responsibilities

  • Serves as aprimary IT contact for Supply Chain projects, process/system development, support and future functionality needs related to assigned modules.
  • Maintains a good understanding of the business processes supported by the assigned modules, coordinate and maintain close alignment with business users of the applications to plan for changes to the software and to ensure it continues to support the business processes into the future and participate as an active member of the CPC IT team.
  • Mentors junior team members as needed
  • Participates in planning and managing the installation of new and interim releases of SAP and other software and participate in new application delivery teams through project steps, including periodic evaluations of buy vs. build alternatives and application implementation.
  • Assists functional application representatives with the technical aspects of new application development and deployment
  • Develops programming code for application development of reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements and/or forms (RICEF)
  • Supports the technical maintenance of applications 
  • Develops system integrations and provides technology options for moving data in, out and between systems
  • Ensures all technical application issues from the customer support helpline are answered and resolved 
  • Supports the group manager on solution strategy and application infrastructure lifecycle
  • Leads technical projects with understanding of project management methodologies
  • Adheres to change management, coding standards and other IT internal controls
     

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree
  • At least 7+ years of hands-on experience participating in IT Projects directly related to the implementation and support of the SAP Sales and Distribution and Logistics Execution Module
  • Exposure and experience with a company’s end-to-end supply chain process. Experience with Order fulfillment to end customer from the manufacturing location to delivery
  • Strong understanding of project life cycle methodology and procedures with minimal of two (2) complete SAP ECC life-cycle implementations 
  • Functional and Technical delivery expertise in SAP (ECC and S/4 HANA) within Sales/Distribution and Supply Chain
  • Strong experience implementing API’s and EDI messages with business partners (Customers / Vendors) 

Required Qualifications Continued

  • Knowledge of Transportation management, Route determination, Shipment cost documents and transportation-related systems 
  • Knowledge of using Fiori Apps, BAPIs, BADIs, Adobe Forms and SmartForms 
  • Strong understanding of integration between SAP modules (e.g., SAP APO, GTS, MM, FI/CO, Vendavo or any equivalent pricing system, Vertex, LIMS and GTS)
  • Experience working with Batch Management and Handling Unit Management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the Petro-Chemical industry
  • Experience in pricing across documents – Purchase Orders, Quotations, Sales Orders, Deliveries and Billing documents
  • Experience with loading tools such as LSMW and/or eCATT
  • 1 year or more of experience working with SAP Quality Management
  • Analytical Skills: Demonstrated aptitude to investigate complex technical and business problems in detail, to diagnose and provide effective and efficient alternatives
  • Leadership and Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to proactively collaborate within teams of IT and business resources to accomplish established goals
  • Communication Skills: Demonstrated ability to communicate complex problems and issues in a concise manner (oral/written) to many different audiences. Ability to clearly communicate with customers, peers, and upper management
