The Finance Department aims to be a trusted partner that adds value by protecting the company’s financial integrity, guiding sound business decisions and offering enriching careers in a collaborative workplace. Finance oversees financial planning and fiscal management for Chevron Phillips Chemical including accounting, financing activities, planning, and tax compliance. The department provides financial information, policy analyses and recommendations that drive sound decision-making.


Chevron Phillips Chemical Company (CPChem) is seeking to fill the Sustainability & Supply Chain Finance Manager position at its corporate headquarters in The Woodlands.  This position reports directly to the FP&A Manager and will be responsible for Finance oversite for CPChem’s Commercial support groups which include but are not limited to Sustainability and Supply Chain.  This position does not have any direct reports and will be a working manager.  The successful candidate will be an integral part of the Leadership Teams of both the Sustainability and Supply Chain organizations.  This position will also provide reporting support for other staff groups within Commercial and lead / coordinate projects that occur within Commercial FP&A.


  • Provide Finance oversight for Sustainability initiatives within CPChem which includes but is not limited to:
    • Actively participating on the Sustainability Leadership Team and working teams
    • SDDT (Sustainability Data Digitization & Transformation) project Finance representative which may include providing insights into data governance, internal controls and integration into other Finance functions
    • Circular credit tracking FP&A representative to assist with the setup of the accounting associated with the credits
    • Provide guidance to ensure proper accounting treatment for transactions / investments
    • Budget / forecast oversight
    • Other Sustainability initiatives

Responsibilities (continued)

  • Provide Finance oversight for the Supply Chain organization within CPChem which includes but is not limited to:
    • Prepare reporting on key performance metrics, monthly performance summary reports
    • Identity opportunities to enhance decision making through improved analysis
    • Perform ad-hoc business analysis to provide management materials for decision support
    • Serve as the financial lead to work with Supply Chain management to resolve issues related to Accounting, Finance and business processes
    • Other Supply Chain initiatives
  • Special Projects / Commercial Staff Group Support
    • Serve as project leader / coordinator for projects that impact multiple product lines
    • Provide Commercial Staff group support for budget and forecast processes

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a Bachelor’s degree with an MBA (CPA considered a plus)
  • 10+ years of related work experience that includes analysis, reporting and small to mid-size project management
  • Strong business analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience leading and participating on cross-functional teams with members at varying levels within the organization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within the Chemicals, Oil & Gas, or Energy industry
  • Experience working with Planful, Hyperion Essbase, or similar reporting software
  • Experience creating and manipulating PowerBI or Tableau dashboards
  • Strong understanding of accounting theory and application of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
