Chevron Phillips is seeking a senior-level SAP Security professional to serve as a full-time IT Applications Security Analyst reporting to the IT Applications Security Supervisor. The successful candidate will be part of a team of experienced and highly motivated security analysts responsible for developing and implementing unified processes pertaining to SAP and general IT Application security design, user provisioning, user access controls, emergency access management and process controls.


The position involves addressing all aspects of SAP and general Application Security, such as implementation methodologies, role-based access controls, security requirement gathering, design, project estimation, project delivery, role build, testing, end user deployment, and user administration in a complex system landscape.



Roles & Responsibilities:


  • Serve as an IT Application Security analyst with primary responsibility for SAP systems as well as non-SAP enterprise applications.
  • Define and adhere to an IT Security framework for the CPChem SAP and non-SAP application landscape and gain alignment from the business leadership on the key security design points in compliance with SOX principles and requirements.
  • Evaluate business risks associated with security design, implement appropriate controls to address those risks and provide recommendations on ways to simplify and streamline the security design.
  • Manage security proposal, cost estimation, design and delivery of projects and strategic initiatives requiring security work.
  • Define, design and continuously improve security process and governance in all application areas
  • Design, advise, test, implement and document security best practice controls for SAP security solution, interface security, communication security and various enterprise applications
  • Work with business and project teams to troubleshoot issues with security objects, identify, and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of information security management principles
  • Implement Security notes, upgrades, deployments and enhancements
  • Provide support for an SAP Security including user administration, role administration, and customer services.
  • Adherence to SOX and SOD controls
  • Ability to take a broad view of the position and take initiative to communicate, interact, and cooperate with others to ensure that all aspects of a task are addressed
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging and projected future technology trends and developments to investigate, plan, and implement specific technologies, products, methods and techniques related to application security, for the benefit of the business and IT department.
  • Demonstrate integrity, positive attitude, solid work ethic, commitment to stakeholders, passion for excellence and adherence to CPChem Ethics & Compliance standards.
  • Assist IT Applications Supervisor with the development of strategy, roadmap, and requirements for enterprise information protection and systems usage to align with technology, product, and overall business strategy



Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s OR Master’s Degree in Information Technology or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience implementing and maintaining SAP security concepts and strategies (role design, profile generation, authorization objects, etc.)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the GRC application from Configuration to Run Support
  • Functional knowledge of SAP ECC, GTS, BI, APO, Portal, Solution Manager and GRC modules.
  • Working knowledge of SAP HANA security
  • Excellent MS Office Skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc..)
  • Demonstrates a logical and structured approach to time management and task prioritization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • An ability to work under pressure and to a strict deadline
  • Willingness to learn Security Concepts for Non-SAP applications



Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience securing the Success Factors solution
  • Experience with cybersecurity solutions for SAP such as Onapsis or Layer Seven
  • Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Client focused and support oriented, with strong customer service skills
  • Analytical and Detail Oriented
  • Action-oriented and drive results
  • Strong ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
