Performance Pipe, A Division of Chevron Phillips Chemical Co., LP., an injection molding manufacturer of polyethylene pipe fittings, located in Bloomfield, IA is seeking a full time employee for a 2nd shift  (2:30 pm - 11:00 pm) Maintenance trainee position.  Excellent starting salary at $22.91. 


 Available position requires the ability to work safely in a team-oriented environment.  The plant operates 24 hours a day/7 days a week.  Overtime may be required which includes weekends.  Applicants must be 18 years or older, high school education or GED is required in addition to a valid driver’s license. 


 We are looking for a detail-oriented candidate who has a demonstrated work history of shift work, in addition to working injury free and following work place/plant safety practices and procedures.  Experience in a manufacturing environment-injection molding process experience a plus.

  • Candidate must have basic computer skills and possess a good understanding in math.
  • Must have either 2 years of technical training or a minimum of 5 years maintenance position experience in an industrial environment.
  • Must be able to use measuring equipment and gauges typically required by a Maintenance Technician.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Must have the ability to read and understand drawings, prints and schematics.


Responsibilities (continued)


  • Must be able to perform welding and cutting tasks.
  • Must understand and have the ability to work safely with electricity up to and including 480 volts.
  • Experience with computer controlled equipment, PLC’s, HVAC and process water systems would be a plus.
  • Must pass all MOBI requirements for forklifts and cranes and possess the ability to operate this equipment.
  • Proficient in communicating in English language (both verbal and written).
