Purpose/Introduction

The Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHS&S) Department manages our environmental performance, assures regulatory compliance and drives Our Journey to Zero, the company’s blueprint to achieve our goal to eliminate events that could inflict serious–or even fatal–injuries to employees or contractors, or result in severe process safety events.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to interact and present to all levels of the organizations 
  • Participates in Incident Investigation
  • Implements health and safety standards
  • Shares best practices for health and safety
  • Perform Hot Work and Confined Space Entry permitting
  • Review and verify Energy Isolations as required for permitting
  • Review and conduct audits on SWIFT electronic permits
  • Review crane lift plans and attend lift meetings
  • Safety consultation with direct hire and contracted personnel for planned and continuing work
  • Review and revise safety procedures and policies as required
  • Active leadership to support Operational Excellence (OE) initiatives for the facility

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree with at least five years of chemical/refining experience working in operations, maintenance, safety or related field
  • Self-starter and ability to multi-task
  • Strong communication skills
  • Working understanding of safety laws and regulations

Preferred Qualifications

⦁    Certified Safety Professional
⦁    Trained/certified in incident investigation methodologies (Root Cause Analysis, Why Tree, 5 why, etc.)
