Purpose/Introduction

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Planning and Scheduling Supervisor and Craft Supervisors to continually improve and sustain the Operations Maintenance Work Process.
  • Partner with Operations / Production, Work Execution Teams, Contractors, Planning and Scheduling, Inspection, Engineering / Reliability, Safety, Environmental, Projects, Warehouse, and other groups to bridge any real or perceived gaps in communication, integration, coordination, and/or cooperation.
  • Attain knowledge of standards, principles, and skills necessary to develop and drive short and long range plans for the assigned Area(s) that will improve and sustain performance in business aspects such as (but not limited to) HSE, asset mechanical integrity, reliability, and equipment care development and methods while leveraging and building partnerships with appropriate and cross-functional resources.
  • Develop, own, and maintain outage and turnaround repair and project lists (and scope development as necessary)
  • Positively influence and develop people to achieve their highest potential and to over-achieve through skillful mentoring, coaching, partnering, and appropriate stretch-assignments.
  • Facilitate weekly field safety and planning/scheduling audits

Responsibilities (continued)

  • Support decision making for equipment repair, including execution of equipment repair recommendations
  • Responsible for making sure that Craft provide history of work performed on equipment for input into SAP
  • Coordinate and develop plan for craft training. Determine deficiencies and needs with Craft Team Leads and develop training plan to achieve qualifications.
  • Own and Manage Maintenance cleanup areas with Craft Leads and Craftsmen. Track progress and deficiencies.
  • Own and Manage Major Maintenance planning, coordination, timing to ensure all items are included during equipment shutdowns or projects. Ensure deferrals are known in a timely manner if needed.
  • Coordinate multi-craft job efforts as lead-craft to ensure communication, repair scope resolution and successful return to service
  • Serve as Turnaround Manager for Borger’s small and larger turnaround maintenance outages: MPU, West CPU, and East CPU.  Responsibilities will shift as additional focus is required to properly plan and execute the 5 year East CPU Turnaround Outage.
  • Overall accountability for all turnaround related work aspects including Capital Projects, operations readiness and preparation for mechanical handover, Maintenance, Turnaround completion and unit handover, as well as unit re-start support. 
  • Ensure team activities are aligned with CPChem Turnaround Planning System (TAPS) Standard.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 10 years of related experience OR a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of related experience
  • Proficient in SAP
  • Proficient in Primavera P6
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to make thoughtful and strategic decisions (sometimes difficult and/or “quick”) in the most appropriate and timely manner.
  • Knowledge of mechanical standards in the petrochemical industry
  • Knowledge in project budgeting and scheduling
  • Good people management skills. (leadership, delegation, networking and influencing skills)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience planning and/or coordinating Major Maintenance/Turnaround Activities
  • Proficient in Prometheus
