  • Design, configure, and implement interfaces for the current APC applications of Aspen Tech DMC plus, Rockwell Pavilion MPC, and Aspen Tech IP21 process data historian; develop new applications by utilizing emerging technologies.
  • Provide technical consulting and expertise to contract engineering firms and project engineers on software and hardware modifications to the advances process control data historian systems. Additionally, provide work direction for contract employees on these modifications.
  • Analyze, develop, and perform programming work for process systems.
  • Work with Industrial Cyber Security Network Administrators on cyber security implementation projects on the Process Control Network.
  • Manage and/or coordinate capital and expense projects in the $5M to $500M cost range for the implementation of process data historian systems, asset management systems, environmental reporting systems, and alarm databases.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day development, support, maintenance, and implementation of process data historian systems, asset management systems, and environmental reporting systems.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day support and maintenance of process data historian hardware such as workstations and servers.
  • Troubleshoot issues that impact operations.
  • Support site in process data historian, environmental reporting, and minimal APC off-hour call out duties as needed.
  • Create and provide instruction for training of Operations, I&E Maintenance, and Technical personnel on process data historian and asset management subjects as needed.
  • Draft, review, and manage the documentation of site system standards as applicable to control system networking.
  • Work closely with Control System Specialists/Engineers, Control System Technicians, and Operations.
  • Participate in plant improvement teams as needed.
  • Participate in DCS FAT and SAT process as needed.
  • Participate as needed in plant Process Safety Management by involvement in action item follow-up, risk evaluation, and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews if required.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of direct experience with process data historians.
  • Minimum of 3 years of networking experience, preferably managing Aspen Tech IP21-related and PAS applications.
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Manufacturing industry experience.
  • Ability to interact effectively with internal and external organizations such as Operation, I&E Maintenance, Engineering, Plant Management, consultants, and vendors.
  • Working experience with Yokogawa, Foxboro I/A, ABB DCS, and/or equivalent DCS systems.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding design documents such as P&IDs, instrument loop drawings, schematics, etc.
  • Self-motivated, able to lead and influence others, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and demonstrate a professional attitude.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and applications.
  • Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Willing to put in extra hours to complete emergency repair/restoration of services.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience implementing and maintaining process data historians and environmental databases/reporting packages.
  • Experience participating in DCS FAT and SAT process.
  • Microsoft and network certification.
  • Knowledge of operating systems and applications other than Microsoft systems/applications.
  • Knowledge of petrochemical processes related to olefins, alpha olefins, and polyolefins manufacturing preferably ethylene units, high-pressure autoclave, gas phase polyethylene units, and/or loop reactors.
  • Willingness to mentor and train plant personnel.
  • Experience in lifecycle management.
