Responsibilities

⦁    Maintains and improves the mechanical integrity of equipment to achieve safe, reliable, and incident-free operations 
⦁    Follows safe work practices, basic maintenance procedures and enthusiastically contributes to a safe work culture
⦁    Performs regulatory required environmental compliance testing and maintains documentation
⦁    Completes maintenance activities on instrumentation in operating units 
⦁    Identifies opportunities for equipment repair cost reduction and maintains and/or increases repair quality
⦁    Evaluates work request for routine and emergency instrument work
⦁    Utilizes P&IDs, schematics, and loop sheets to complete assigned tasks
⦁    Repairs and calibrates flow, pressure, level, temperature, and differential pressure transmitters
⦁    Repairs and tunes various types of controllers associated with process instrumentation
⦁    Installs and/or removes field and panel mounted equipment
⦁    Pulls, repairs, and calibrates pneumatic/electric actuated control valves
⦁    Installs and sets pressure, temperature, flow, level switches, and monitoring devices to ensure proper operation
⦁    Performs PM's on various process instruments

 

Required Qualifications

  • Certificate of Instrumentation and 2 years of manufacturing/chemical plant maintenance experience as an instrument mechanic/technician OR a high school diploma/GED with 5+ years of manufacturing/chemical plant maintenance experience as an instrument mechanic/technician.  Plant experience should include troubleshooting and repair knowledge of pneumatic, electronic and digital transmitters and controllers, switches and other process instrumentation. 
  • Ability to accommodate overtime and split-shift hours
  • Ability to read equipment prints, secure information from OEM manuals, and proficiency with measurement tools
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions in challenging technical situations
  • Ability to read schematic drawings or product manuals to repair parts 

Preferred Qualifications

⦁    Associate Degree or higher in Instrumentation or related field
⦁    Factory training and repair of control valves, fieldbus, electronic governors (Triconex, Woodward), or Yokogawa DCS Configuration, Bently Nevada vibrations systems, and/or PLC's
