Chevron Phillips Chemical is seeking a Maintenance Planning & Scheduling Supervisor to join our team at the Cedar Bayou facility in Baytown, TX.  The Maintenance Planning & Scheduling Supervisor supervises the Maintenance Planners and Schedulers, in addition to the following: direction setting, personnel development, oversight of work quality, enforcement of standards, development and implementation of improvements, and measurement of results.  In addition, this position is responsible measuring the overall effectiveness of the Maintenance department by providing stakeholders key performance indicators (KPIs).  Overseeing maintenance planning & scheduling, this role is responsible for the execution and improvement of the Operation and Maintenance Work Process.  #LPCP 



  • Ensures appropriate planning and scheduling support for maintenance execution, including overall responsibility over plans, schedules, and logistical challenges; direct supervision of a team of both company and contractor Planners and Schedulers.
  • Adjusts support to adequately facilitate emergency or break-in work and understands the impact of break-in work from the safety, reliability, and cost perspectives.
  • Sets performance expectations, including safety in the field, and holds employees accountable for performance
  • Routinely reviews team performance with customers to recognize good work and identify opportunities
  • Develops and mentors Maintenance Planners and Maintenance Schedulers through coaching, training, and other development activities
  • Ensures collaboration and cooperation between team members and stakeholders as detailed in the Operations Maintenance Workflow Process (OMWP)
  • Seeks out and implements opportunities for continuous improvement through customer feedback, team input, and recognition of poor performance in key performance indicators
  • Supports organizational transformation efforts and owns initiatives, as appropriate
  • Provides input and supports data-driven models for craft staffing levels
  • Responsible for the measurement of key performance indicators and the communication of those measures to leadership, customers, and maintenance team members
  • Proactively works to address unsatisfactory performance indicators
  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure adequate support for Turnarounds and special projects, as required.
  • Sits on the leadership staff of the Shared Services Superintendent and actively collaborates with the entire team
  • Leads by example, demonstrating safety in the field, reliable performance, and excellence in work execution

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree with at least 9 years chemical and/or petrochemical plant maintenance or project related experience, OR in lieu of associate's degree a High School diploma/GED and 12 years chemical and/or petrochemical plant maintenance or project related experience
  • Proficiency in SAP 
  • At least 5 years of planning and/or scheduling experience 
  • Understands the impact of the planning and scheduling process, along with proficiency in the Operations Maintenance Workflow Process (OMWP) or similar maintenance workflow process between departments
  • Working knowledge of Prometheus and Graphical Work Order Scheduling (GWOS) scheduling
  • Working knowledge of various craft disciplines and tools
  • Understanding of cost control and scheduling terminology and techniques
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate to and work with personnel across the organization
  • Demonstrated strong organizational and administrative skills.
