  • Effectively apply asset integrity and reliability standards/practices
  • Understand intent of industry codes and interpret codes to address technical issues
  • Participate in development of facility reliability procedures and guidelines
  • Understand when and how to utilize outside asset integrity or reliability resources to solve technical issues
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis associated with Pressure Relief Devices
  • Develop and implement Key Performance Indicators/Metrics associated with Reliability performance
  • Drive Pressure Relief Device Bad Actor Improvements
  • Optimize reliability work processes to achieve sustainable equipment performance improvements
  • Perform shop audits and lead changes to Customer Shop Requirements
  • Review inspection reports and make recommendations to improve Relief Device Performance
  • Review and approve ITPM or recommendation deferral requests
  • Create and update specification sheets

Responsibilities (continued)

  • Develop reliability plans, sparing philosophies, preventative maintenance programs, and repair specifications to minimize recurring performance problems
  • Make recommendations to improve Relief Device performance
  • Provide Management of Change support
  • Effectively influence facility operations and maintenance work groups to implement asset integrity and reliability improvement initiatives
  • Maintain relationships with industry suppliers to improve equipment design, application, or installation with impact on equipment reliability
  • Site pressure relief device subject matter expert
  • Site representative for corporate discussions to improve relief device processes and requirements
  • Function as site subject matter expert and mentor for others for Pressure Relief Devices
  • Serve as reliability resource for planning, preparation and execution of moderately complex projects and outages

Required Qualifications

  • BS degree in mechanical, electrical or chemical engineering 
  • At least 5 years of experience in the petro/chemical/manufacturing industry 
  • At least 2 years previous experience with the maintenance, reliability, and/or design of Pressure Relief Devices
  • Proficient in performance and assessment tools such as RCA, FMEA, MTBR, 5-Why/Why Tree, or others 
  • Knowledgeable on Pressure Relief Device repair techniques, design standards, and specifications 
  • A self-starter who can work with minimal supervision and prioritize work  
  • Proven leadership and administrative abilities
  • Understanding of safety issues in a hazardous environment 
  • Ability to establish respectful relationships with team members at all levels
  • Ability to meet deadlines 
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications
