Purpose/Introduction

We are seeking an Operations Engineer to join the Conroe Facility located in Conroe, TX.  The position will be responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting to ensure the unit runs safely, reliably,  and efficiently. In this the role, the Operations Engineer needs a strong technical background, ability to take initiative, exhibits strong safety leadership, and have excellent communication skills. The selected candidate will report to the Technical Superintendent. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and daily technical operations support including, but not limited to the following: troubleshooting, optimization, test runs, data analysis, continuous improvement efforts/opportunities and other facility initiatives.
  • Manage small to mid-sized process-related projects.
  • Provide engineering expertise for process safety activities (PHAs, MOCs, Incident Investigations, assessments, audits, etc.).
  • Coordinate process support for unplanned/planned outages.
  • Monitor process KPIs and provide oversight and recommendations to Operations.
  • Assists in addressing all safety and environmental issues promptly.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience in a petrochemical or refining environment.
  • Must be a self-starter and work effectively with operations, maintenance, colleagues, and management.
  • Excellent problem solving, planning, troubleshooting, communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must exhibit a continuous improvement focus in the areas of safety, environmental and operational excellence
  • Experience in hazard analysis, risk assessments and incident investigations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Chemical or Mechanical Engineering Degree is preferred
  • Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) Experience
