Purpose/Introduction

Chevron Phillips Chemical is seeking a Quality System Specialist to join our team at Golden Triangles Polymers in   Orange, Texas. This is an exciting opportunity to utilize your experience and be part of a team contributing to the design, startup, and operation of a new plant from the ground up.

 

This Quality System Specialist oversees the continual improvement efforts of the facility Quality systems as well as serves as a technical resource for quality audits, quality control, and generating Certificates of Analysis from SAP Quality Module. The successful candidate must build strong relationships with Plant Management, Plant Production Personnel, Quality Assurance, and the Supply Chain Personnel in order to achieve overall results. This individual must have an understanding on how all aspects of quality affects the customer, business goals, and strategic quality objectives.  #HPCP

 

This position will be assigned to the project location in Orange, TX and will transition to ongoing operations following commissioning and startup with an expected commitment through stable start-up operations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the facility is fully compliant with all ISO 9001 requirements and other quality and customer audits.
  • Maintain quality management system at GTP. Maintain and ensure all quality manuals and procedures are up to date.
  • Provide ISO 9001 training and coordinate internal ISO auditor training.
  • Lead or coordinate all manufacturing internal ISO audits, as well as facilitate other quality (NSF, LIMS, etc.) and customer audits.
  • Support ISO audits and provide written response for corrective actions to address any non- conformities received from internal or external audits.
  • Serve as Customer Complaint Coordinator. Assure customer complaints are closed on a timely basis and assist in developing process improvements to resolve or prevent customer issues.
  • Compile and issue routine reports on customer complaints.

Skills / Abilities

  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work as a team lead and/or team participant.
  • Looking for an individual with great initiatives and strong work ethic.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related science/engineering degree.
  • 5 years of laboratory and/or manufacturing experience.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 or similar Quality Management System.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Polymer and ethylene manufacturing laboratory experience.
  • SAP experience.
