The Quality Control Operator position requires the ability to work safely in a team-oriented environment.  Previous manufacturing experience preferred.  Must be 18 years or older, high School education or GED required in addition to a valid driver's license. 

 

We are looking for detail oriented candidates who  have a demonstrated work history , in addition to working injury free and following work place/plant safety practices and procedures. Experience in a manufacturing environment-plastics extrusion process experience a plus.


Job duties include but not limited to:

 

  • Safety  - must participate in daily safety routines  (both as an individual and team member)
  • Perform calibration functions on tools and equipment, as required
  • Use of basic hand and power tools
  • Measure pipe and verify that physical properties are within acceptable criteria
  • Unloading of railcars
  • Assist in establishing effective recommendations for changes or modifications of equipment, tooling, systems, facilities, and operating procedures to improve quality assurance.

 

Successful candidates will need the following qualifications:

 

  • General knowledge and experience using various types of hand tools.
  • Basic computer and math skills
  • A demonstrated history of learning and applying new information and technology with math and learning skills
  • Proficient in communicating in English language (both verbal and written)
  • Capable of lifting approximately 50 lbs. without an assist
  • Capable of standing for approximately 60 minutes at one time
  • Be able to climb up ladders, approximately 80 steps high
  • Capable of working in all outdoor weather conditions 
  • Must have use of motor functions; bend, squat, stoop.

Starting Pay for this position is:  $21.28/hr with time and one-half (1.5) paid for hours worked after 40 hours in a week. Applicants must be available to work Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm.  Required weekend and holiday work is rotated every third weekend or holiday. 

 

This is a non-exempt fixed-rate position. The initial wage rate will be tied to the applicable progression schedule.
