Performance Pipe - Hagerstown is seeking a shipping operator to support a 24/7/365 plastic extrusion operation. 

Starting Hourly Wage: $17.72/hr.  Overtime is paid at time and a half for hours worked over 40 hours in a work week. Applicants must be available to work Monday – Friday 8 hours/day (including some overtime, weekends, and holidays)

  • Consistently contribute to a safe work culture.
  • Work with truck drivers to ensure yard safety rules are adhered to.
  • Read pick tickets, identify products to be loaded and safely load pipe onto outbound trucks.
  • Safely unload inbound trucks and properly stage pipe in the yard.
  • Ensure the correct product is loaded on trucks, and that first in/first out method of inventory management is utilized.
  • Safely repackage product as necessary by cutting dunnage and reapplying banding.
  • Assist with yard maintenance and upkeep.
  • Work within a team structure to accomplish tasks.
    Required Qualifications
  • Must be able to work safely and adhere to all plant safety requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must have a pleasant, people friendly attitude. 
  • Minimum of 6 months forklift operation experience.
  • Basic math skills and be able to read a tape measure.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all-weather conditions.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. without an assist.
    Preferred Qualifications 
  • 1+ years of diesel, propane forklift operation or heavy equipment operating experience.
  • Shipping and receiving experience in outdoor yard setting.  Loading and unloading flatbeds and containers.
  • LTL dock experience, warehouse, cross dock operations. 
  • Basic computer skills, specifically the MS Office Suite.
