Purpose/Introduction

Performance Pipe is currently seeking a Shift Supervisor to join our team at the Knoxville, TN plant. The Shift Supervisor is responsible for managing all activities necessary to produce products in a safe (incident-free) and reliable manner. The role has a personnel accountability of approximately 15 employees. 

Responsibilities

  • Promotes and ensures a safe working environment with quality results.
  • Must utilize at all times Tenets Of Operation, Life Saving Rules and Good Hazard Recognition skills at point of execution.
  • Directs, supervises and motivates a team of employees to produce expected results while optimizing assets, inventory, equipment, and manpower.
  • Assumes an active, hands-on role in the production process, utilizing initiative, planning, organizing, motivational and leadership skills.
  • Trains operators in extrusion skills and techniques.
  • Provides mentoring to new operators
  • Troubleshoots extrusion equipment including Inoex wall monitors.
  • Ensures accurate reporting of production.
  • Works with maintenance to ensure proper function and maintenance of equipment.
  • Must set the example for ICARE in workplace.  All employees in every situation must be always treated with dignity and respect
  • Must work well with other departments to ensure optimization of assets, inventory, equipment, and company SOP’s/Policy.
  • Must actively be involved in employee development.  Each employee must have a development plan and be given honest and timely feedback on their performance.

 

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Previous supervisory experience and/or extensive experience as a lead operator in an extrusion manufacturing facility.
  • Ability to work alternating shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Mechanical aptitude and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word and Excel).
  • Selected candidate must take an active, hands-on role in the production process, utilizing initiative, planning, organizing, motivational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills promoting teamwork.
