Lab Technician

Introduction

We are seeking a  Lab Technician to join our team in Orange.  As a Lab  Technician, you will perform a variety of technical laboratory tests and procedures independently, collaborating with diverse teams to ensure product quality and safety. Responsibilities

As a Lab Technician, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Conducting a wide range of laboratory tests and analyses independently, adhering to our strict safety protocols and quality standards.
• Engaging in lab non-conformance investigations related to quality and safety incidents, coordinating with quality personnel to determine appropriate actions.
• Quarantining nonconforming products and ensuring accurate documentation throughout the process.
• Performing verification and maintenance of lab equipment, ensuring all instruments are operating optimally.
• Maintaining an organized storage system for finished samples and ensuring all retain samples are tracked and archived appropriately.
• Facilitating the collection and tracking of laboratory waste in compliance with environmental regulations.
• Actively participating in team meetings to improve processes and share knowledge.

Required Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the following required qualifications:

• A High School Diploma/GED with at least 2 years of higher education in a science-related field or equivalent relevant work experience.
• The capability to work independently with minimal supervision once fully trained on tasks.
• Strong focus and attention to detail, especially while performing repetitive tasks.
• Proficiency in operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining specialized laboratory instruments and software.
• Excellent computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite.
• A valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

Ideal candidates may also possess the following preferred qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in a science-related field with at least 2 years of experience in an analytical laboratory environment.
• Familiarity with Chemstation chromatography software.
• Experience in polyethylene laboratory testing and analysis.
• Knowledge of operational functionalities for equipment such as melt index testers, hot presses, GC, FTIR, XRF, and densimeters.
• The ability to climb one level of stairs for railcar sampling as needed.
• Strong understanding of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), Quality Management Systems, Good Documentation Practices, and Good Laboratory Practices.
