Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager with a strong engineering background to lead maintenance operations at our Golden Triangle Polymers facility in Orange, Texas. This role will report to the Plant Manager and is critical in ensuring plant reliability, safety, and compliance with industry standards such as ASME and API. The ideal candidate will bring over 20 years of experience, a proactive leadership style, and a proven ability to drive continuous improvement in a high-stakes, process-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • As a member of the Golden Triangle Polymers Leadership Team, supports the overall strategy implementation for the GTP facility
  • Manages planned maintenance activities per established schedule(s) and complex troubleshooting and repair activities in accordance with facility EHSS policies and GTP Maintenance procedures.
  • Clear understanding of attributes and management of facility and operational/maintenance risks.
  • Leads in continuous improvement projects to improve safety, reliability, and efficiencies in all activities.
  • Directs and optimizes the utilization of CPChem/GTP employees, and baseload nested contractors, and additional 3rd-party contractors to achieve all maintenance activities in the most effective and efficient manner. 
  • Leads the vendor contract management process, ensuring the evaluation and selection of the most suitable vendor(s) at the lowest total cost of ownership.
  • Establishes process improvements to drive improvements in metrics that drive business results.
  • Manages procurement activities and the awarding of contracts according to business needs
  • As a member of the Incident Command Team, works with other members to develop appropriate plans and training to enable effective response to emergency situations and recovery activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Engineering Degree with at least 20 years of related experience
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • A self-starter who can work with minimal supervision  
  • Ability to prioritize work to align with goals
  • Proven leadership and administrative abilities
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of Industry Codes and Standards such as ASME, API, etc 
  • Previous maintenance leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years in a supervisory position (or Previous Site Leadership Team experience (i.e. Manager)
  • Demonstrated leadership in roles of increasing responsibility with the ability to manage effectively and develop clear and detailed organizational objectives and strategies
  • Prior experience in design, execution, commissioning, and/or startup of large capital projects
  • Strong commitment to process and personnel safety leadership
  • Results-driven individual with creative thinking and problem-solving skills who can handle multiple tasks concurrently
  • Experience with maintenance management software (SAP, Prometheus, etc)
  • Experience with Asset Management software (e.g. Meridium)
  • Diverse experience in multiple areas of manufacturing, commercial, and/or Research & Technology
  • Experience at multiple sites
