Purpose/Introduction:
We are seeking a QA/QC Analyst to join the Procurement Team for the new Golden Triangle Polymers facility located in Orange, TX that will be operated by Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP. This is an exciting opportunity to utilize your experience and be part of a team contributing to the design, startup, and operation of a new plant from the ground up. This position will transition to ongoing operations following commissioning and startup with an expected commitment through stable start-up operations.
The QA/QC Analyst is accountable for conducting and maintaining all warehouse related QA/QC and inventory cycle counting activities and documentation in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements. This position will also be the warehouse Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Positive Material Identification (PMI) and Hazmat sample shipping activities. Initially, this position will be focused on Operational Readiness, ensuring the plant is properly commissioned and supporting a safe, orderly, and timely start-up. Following start-up, the job functions will transition to a more traditional role characterized by normal plant operations.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily / weekly cycle counts for stores stock materials
- Ensure that cycle counts are performed timely and accurately to meet Sarbanes Oxley requirements
- Resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely manner in accordance with CPC inventory practices
- Provide guidance on resolution as inventory discrepancies arise
- Develop and generate reports on inventory status and accuracy
- Perform all PMI related activities for the warehouse and maintain documentation
- Properly maintain all PMI equipment that pertains to the warehouse
- Ensure that materials that come on site meet the requested metallurgy specifications
- Effectively communicate results and issues to key stakeholders
- Maintain all other documentation that pertains to the QA/QC process (MTR’s, certificates, etc.)
- Responsible for Hazmat shipping activities associated with sample shipments leaving the facility including bills of lading, labels/placards, documentation, etc. per 49CFR
- Provide oversight to Material Kitting (bag/tag)
- Work in conjunction with EHS to ensure compliance with Shipping Safety Standards and procedures
- Work with EHS to ensure all warehouse chemicals have proper SDS sheets online or designated location
- Demonstrate commitment to the safety, ethical and legal policies of CPChem
- Build rapport and relationships with customers and colleagues, and all levels of management
- Other warehouse duties as directed by the Materials Management Supervisor
Skills
- Able to interface with internal customer(s) and suppliers regarding any PMI/quality issues that may arise
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, (i.e. Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
- Able to work with customers to provide information and resolve problems
- Able to generate Inventory reports in SAP
- Able to generate accurate manifests and shipping orders for Hazmat shipments
- Able to develop/maintain effective relationships with others
- Able to identify problems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as a highly functioning team member
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask
- Detail oriented to ensure accurate work product on a consistent and routine basis
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED
- Minimum of 5 years manufacturing warehouse experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with SAP Materials Management/Warehousing
- 49 CFR HazMat shipping certification or the ability to obtain certification, with 2 years of experience
- Previous PMI and Quality Assurance/Quality Control experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with Inventory Verification (Cycle Counting)
