Purpose/Introduction
Chevron Phillips Chemical (CPChem) is seeking to fill the position of the Reliability Systems Technical Specialist in the Central Engineering organization located in The Woodlands, Texas. The successful candidate will report to the Corporate Reliability Manager in Central Engineering and will be responsible for supporting the Asset Performance Management digital platform (APM) that enables and supports implementation of CPChem Reliability work practices throughout CPChem manufacturing sites. Support responsibilities will include domestic and international sites, including JV's.
Responsibilities
- Ensures ongoing sustainability of the system of record, GE Digital APM, used for managing the Asset Integrity and Reliability Program activities at CPChem
- Assists and collaborates with sites on activities associated with data loads, metrics reporting, data clean up and system training
- Maintains and develops dashboards to support work processes
- Point of contact with Corporate IT and site liaisons in resolution of APM related issues
- Works with Corporate IT to ensure successful system upgrades and connections to other platforms
- Provides technical oversite and direction to contractors involved in enhancements to APM as well as contractors working for local site support.
Responsibilities (continued)
- Interfaces with corporate and site functional experts to ensure data systems support business needs
- Consults with international joint ventures as they implement upgrades and new versions of APM
- Effectively influences facility operations and maintenance work groups to implement asset integrity and reliability improvement initiatives
- Optimize asset integrity and reliability work processes to achieve sustainable equipment performance improvement
- Work with SAPMET (SAP Manufacturing Excellence Team) to streamline work process integration between SAP and APM and associated metrics
- Participate and provide technical guidance to corporate APM Data Management Network (commonly referred to as the Meridium Users Group)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with at least 5 years of experience or a high school diploma/GED with at least 10 years of experience in supporting management systems used for maintenance, reliability, or planning
- Minimum of ten (10) years' experience in the chemical/refining industry
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in reliability and/or maintenance
- Experience with APM and SAP
- Strong written and verbal communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proven capability of working with peers from other departments to serve a broad range of company customer
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of twenty (20) years’ experience in the chemical/refining industry with a minimum of ten (10) years' experience in Olefins and Polyolefins
- Proven experience working with people in an operating plant, including technicians, engineers, leadership, and contractors
- Strong interpersonal skills (i.e. listening, resolving conflicts, and coaching) and demonstrated ability to influence all level of stakeholders without formal authority
- Proven ability to apply root cause analysis and/or cause mapping investigation techniques
- Experience with process historians
- Experience writing SQL
- Experience building equipment health models
