Purpose/Introduction

Chevron Phillips Chemical is seeking an Analyzer Mechanic to join our team at the Port Arthur facility.  This position is in the Maintenance Department and will receive direction from the Maintenance Supervisor. The successful candidate will work directly with Operations personnel to perform maintenance activities as required. 

 

Physical Requirements:  climbing, bending, lifting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and performing a wide range of physical activities at various heights as outlined in the functional job description.   #HPCP

Responsibilities

  • Follows safe work practices and basic maintenance procedures.
  • Will troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and perform design modifications to plant process analyzers. Analyzer equipment will include but not limited to, gas chromatographs, Mass Spectrometer, O2 and combustibles, infrared analyzers, CEMs Systems, gas detection systems, and moisture analyzers.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED with at least 4 years of industrial experience as an analyzer technician OR an Associate Degree in Instrumentation Technology with at least 1 year of plant experience. 
  • Ability to read equipment prints and secure information from OEM manuals.
  • Proficient in using P&IDs, schematics, and loop sheets.
  • Proficient with measurement tools like a voltmeter.
  • Have basic knowledge of analyzer communication networks, fiber optic systems and hardware.
  • Must possess basic computer skills
  • Must respond to call outs and work rotating weekend coverage
