Introduction
We are looking for a highly skilled and safety-conscious Electrician to join our team at our Port Arthur Plant. This role is critical to ensure the reliability and integrity of our electrical infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with medium- to-high voltage systems, strong diagnostic skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of mechanical and electrical integrity. #HPCP
Responsibilities
- Provides technical expertise with the installation, maintenance, and service of electrical systems
- Maintains electrical equipment to meet or exceed mechanical integrity standards
- Provides technical expertise for unit support
- Assists with installation, site acceptance testing, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical equipment up to 138kV
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- At least 5 years of medium- to-high voltage experience in an industrial or heavy commercial setting with one of the following:
- -Associate Degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology
- -Level II NETA or higher or equivalent certification
- -Journeyman Electrician License
- Knowledge of electrical distribution systems up to 138 kV
- Knowledge and ability to exercise circuit breakers up to 138kV
- Able to interpret and understand electrical drawings, one lines, schematics, and equipment manuals
- Able to diagnose and locate circuit, component, and equipment faults
- Experience with motor starter/switch gear troubleshooting for AC and DC systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing plant process I&E maintenance.
- Ability to interact with other departments for equipment repairs and electrical source transfers
- Knowledge of PLC programming and hardware implementation
- Understanding of the NFPA70, 70E, 70B, IEEE, and NEC Code
- Knowledge of protective relay function, data download, troubleshooting, and alarm (first out) diagnosis
- Knowledge of programming and troubleshooting VFDs
- Familiar with thermal imaging and report analysis of electrical systems
