Chevron Phillips Chemical is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at our Port Arthur Facility.  This position is integral to the success of the Maintenance Department and will be responsible for supervising a crew of Hourly Maintenance personnel.  The successful candidate will work closely with Operations and Maintenance to ensure safe and efficient execution of daily maintenance activities.



  • Apply the Tenets of Operation to promote and develop a proactive safety culture, seek out at-risk behaviors and conditions to achieve the overall goal of zero safety and environmental incidents.
  • Conduct safety meetings, participate in Job Safety Analyses and develops safety action plans for high-risk work.
  • Maintain good communication with operations, maintenance and other plant groups.  Understand stakeholder needs and expectations.
  • Champion the maintenance work process as it pertains to the work group.  Support the maintenance planning & scheduling process.
  • Assigns and directs work activities to meet schedule requirements and emergency operational issues.
  • Ensures that all work is performed in compliance with accepted industry and company standards.
  • Daily reporting on schedule compliance and execution.
  • Responsible for planning emergency and high priority work.
  • Addresses and resolves difficult employee issues. 
  • Ability to analyze problems, evaluate alternatives, and take action to resolve.
  • Performs weekend duty as assigned. Non-routine, off-shift coverage is required with this position.


Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED. 
  • Must have at least 10 years of general mechanical maintenance or project experience at a petrochemical manufacturing facility. 
  • At least 2 years of Mechanical supervision or Work Up Supervisor experience.
  • At least 1 year of maintenance or turnaround planning experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, people and work orders in a fast-paced maintenance environment.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, MS Word, and Outlook).
  • Experience with SAP MM.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills. as well as user level proficiency


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Engineering or technical degree.
  • A background in fixed equipment (e.g. piping, exchangers, and cracking furnaces).
