Performance Pipe, a Division of Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP, is currently seeking a Services Supervisor to join our team in Reno, NV.  Performance Pipe is a multi-plant manufacturer of polyethylene pipe and extrusion products.  The Services Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the Quality Assurance and Shipping departments.  The selected candidate must take an active, hands-on role in supervising/managing the Quality Assurance and Shipping/Receiving departments, utilizing initiative, planning, organizing, motivational and leadership skills. The position reports to the Plant Manager and is a key member of the Plant leadership team.     

                                                                                       

Responsibilities:  

 

  • Lead the quality assurance, shipping and receiving functions for the plant.
  • Directs the operations and functions of the Quality Assurance Lab including, but not limited to the inspection of incoming raw materials, finished products, and the performance of quality control tests in accordance with specifications described in the Performance Pipe Quality Manual, API, ISO, NSF, FM, ASTM, and other quality organizations’ specifications.
  • Ensures facility quality assurance and shipping procedures and processes comply with Performance Pipe Division requirements, Corporate requirements and regulatory requirements.
  • Provides effective Quality Assurance technical assistance to operations.
  • Ensures a safe, neat and clean laboratory operation.
  • Ensures accurate quality records as per company records retention policy.
  • Handles customer complaints in conjunction with other relevant facility personnel.
  • Supervises shipping and receiving operations including safe handling, storing, and loading of finished goods and other items.
  • Ensures compliance with established safe practices and procedures in the quality laboratory and shipping yard.
  • Maintains knowledge and understanding of the division packaging manual to ensure consistency in packaging, loading, and shipment of all products shipped from the plant.
  • Ensures an organized product storage area and stocking methods whereby inventory quantity and availability can be monitored effectively.
  • Responsible for the scheduling lab equipment calibration and maintaining the calibration records per the company records retention policy.
  • Review production control records and wall monitor charts daily for inconsistencies and ensure compliance with plant SOPs.
  • Schedules and coordinates repairs and maintenance of lab equipment with vendors.
  • Orders supplies for the Quality Assurance and Shipping departments.
  • Interfaces with Division Quality Department contacts and other plant Services Supervisors to ensure compliance with Division requirements, consistency between facilities and best practice sharing.
  • Participant in various internal and external audits and review processes.

                                                                   

Required Qualifications:

 

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing facility. 
  • Must have at least 2 years of Supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office.
  • Must have and continue to maintain a good safety record.
  • Must have strong organizational skills, able to deal concurrently with a variety of projects or issues and adaptable to a quicky changing work environment. 
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • This position requires working in a team environment and communicating with employees at all levels in the organization. 
  • High quality standards and a commitment to high performance levels are a must.
  • This position is safety sensitive and subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Knowledge of plastic processing.
  • SAP experience.
  • BMDES experience.
  • Quality or shipping experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with ISO9001 Standard.

 

Travel

 

  • Must travel and attend CPChem First Level Leadership training classes
  • Travel estimated at 10% (customer visits, internal audit teams etc.)
