Purpose/Introduction
Performance Pipe is currently seeking a Shift Supervisor to join our team at the Startex, South Carolina plant. The Shift Supervisor is responsible for managing all activities necessary to produce products in a safe (incident-free) and reliable manner. The role has a personnel accountability of approximately 7-8 employees.
Responsibilities
- Promotes and ensures a safe working environment with quality results.
- Directs, supervises and motivates a team of employees to produce expected results while optimizing assets, inventory, equipment, and manpower.
- Assumes an active, hands-on role in the production process, utilizing initiative, planning, organizing, motivational and leadership skills.
- Trains operators in extrusion skills and techniques.
- Provides mentoring to new operators
- Troubleshoots extrusion equipment including Inoex wall monitors.
- Ensures accurate reporting of production.
- Works with maintenance to ensure proper function and maintenance of equipment.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Previous supervisory experience and/or extensive experience as a lead operator in an extrusion manufacturing facility.
- Ability to work alternating shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Mechanical aptitude and analytical skills.
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word and Excel).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills promoting teamwork.
