Introduction

We are seeking a qualified candidate to join the Maintenance Center of Excellence Department as a MCOE Improvement Execution Advisor. The function of this position is to serve as the point of contact and lead MCOE Improvement Teams efforts across the Chemisphere focused on improving maintenance effectiveness that produce tangible results in achieving 1st quartile performance in Mechanical Availability and competitive cost. This role will report through the Maintenance Center of Excellence Manager.  

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional Improvement Teams at domestic sites to develop and implement action plans supporting maintenance effectiveness improvements that deliver improved site performance at a competitive cost.
  • Aligns sites on Key Performance Indicators/Metrics associated with performance improvements that deliver competitive 1st quartile mechanical availability
  • Supports the development of the maintenance budget and tracks actual performance against budget
  • Develops and Implements gap closure plans within Preventative Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance Programs
  • Subject Matter Expert for Operations and Maintenance Workflow Process (OMWP) implementation and upkeep
  • Provides leadership and support to ensure team efforts and results are focused on delivering strong maintenance effectiveness results
  • Utilizes benchmarking data to identify gaps and gap closure plans
  • Develops team priorities to meet the plant and department goals
  • Ensures compliance with applicable codes and standards
  • Document and implement new business solutions applicable to maintenance work processes
  • Champion maintenance and reliability best practices and recommends implementation actions
  • Manages job procedures and checklists, and initiates procedure MOC’s 
  • Provides technical support for outages and turnarounds
  • Contributes to scope development for capital and expense projects
  • Mentors GRADs and/or intern engineers 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with at least 5 years related engineering experience in a refinery or chemical plant OR High School Diploma/GED with at least 10 years of related engineering experience in a refinery or chemical plant
  • Strong written and verbal communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Prior experience influencing management maintenance strategy.
  • Prior experience translating improvements to cost savings
  • Demonstrated maintenance and project management experience
  • Knowledge of industry design codes and practices 
  • Experience working with maintenance contractor(s)
  • Experience as MOC owner

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of twenty (20) years’ experience in the chemical/refining industry in Maintenance, Reliability and Engineering
  • Prior Supervisory experience
  • Degree in Engineering, Business, or Accounting
  • Experience in applying Lean, Six Sigma tools
  • Application of reliability probability prediction tools
  • Cost accounting experience in Manufacturing
  • Advanced Power BI applications development
  • Advanced SAP experience (PM, FI, PS modules)
  • Strong understanding of Solomon and Townsend Benchmarking studies and results
  • Proven experience working with people in an operating plant, including technicians, engineers, leadership, and contractors
  • Knowledge of mechanical, rotating or Instrument, Electrical crafts.
