Purpose/Introduction

The function of this position is to develop and implement methods, tools, techniques, and best practices that will help the Sweeny, Clemens & Old Ocean Maintenance Department expand capability. This role will focus on utilizing SAP to manage maintenance costs, identify opportunities, and ensure accuracy as well as support strategy development and execution efforts for initiatives supporting the Operations and Maintenance Workflow Process (OMWP) and Maintenance metrics. This role will report through the Maintenance Department. 

Responsibilities

  • Support maintenance technology-based tools (SAP, Meridium, Prometheus, etc.)
  • SME for Operations and Maintenance Workflow Process (OMWP) implementation and upkeep
  • Ensure appropriate approvals are in place prior to start of Maintenance projects (AFE's, AFD's)
  • Document and implement new business solutions applicable to maintenance work processes
  • Champion maintenance and reliability best practices and recommends implementation actions
  • Develop communication tools (metrics) to track and achieve departmental goals
  • Responsible for the overall development of annual Maintenance budgets and the monthly tracking, forecasting, and reporting of cost
  • Validate contractor manpower reports, analyses trends, and provides management reports
  • Manage and report on the department's continuous improvement and Performance by Design (PBD) efforts
  • Conduct data analysis for Solomon and Townsend benchmarking efforts and develop recommendations

  • Thorough understanding of expense versus capital decision making 
  • Able to identify cost accounting errors and effectively collaborate with work groups to implement corrective action
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - comfortable and capable of group presentations
  • Able to work independently and set day-to-day priorities
  • Demonstrated project management experience that include strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Detail oriented; ensures accurate work on a consistent basis
     

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with 4 years of petrochemical experience OR High School Diploma with 10 years maintenance project management/cost controls experience
  • Intermediate SAP experience
  • Advanced skills with MS Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Preferred Qualifications

  •  Degree in Engineering, Business, or Accounting
  • Cost accounting experience in Manufacturing
  • Advanced PowerBI applications development
  • Advanced SAP experience
  • Experience in Maintenance activities
