Our Headquarters, located in The Woodlands, Texas, is currently seeking a qualified individual to join our team as a GRAD Industrial Hygiene Specialist.  Build your skills as you apply what you have learned in the classroom!  We are hiring an Industrial Hygiene Specialist to join our Graduate Rotation and Development program (GRAD) for the upcoming year. This program is a two-year development opportunity designed to help you obtain valuable company knowledge, hands-on experience, and expertise in Industrial Hygiene.

 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Corporate and Plant IH personnel to complete IH Site Sampling Plans (Employee & Maintenance personnel – individual noise monitoring / air sampling for various constituents).
  • Collaborate with Corporate and Plant IH personnel to generate reports for hazard assessments, noise surveys, and lighting surveys, ergonomic assessments as required by Global OE Standards.
  • Collaborate with Corporate and Plant IH personnel to review and input IH Sampling data in to Cority® IH database.
  • Assist IH personnel in maintaining each equipment group gas detection meters - maintain inventory, daily bump testing, monthly calibrations, maintain/replace equipment and calibration gas, and troubleshooting as necessary.
  • Assist IH personnel in daily activities for  both planned and unplanned site outages / Turnarounds, including NORM checks, Area air monitoring, Noise Sampling, Light Surveys, & hazard assessments.
  • Conduct periodic audits of potentially hazardous work areas, process operations, work practices and procedures.
  • Assist IH personnel in providing oversight for contractor work activities including monitoring, sampling, safety & health training and audits.

 

Required Qualifications

  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States and will not now or in the future require sponsorship by the employer.
  • Possess a degree in Industrial Hygiene or currently enrolled in the final year of your Industrial Hygiene degree program.
  • Must hold a valid Driver’s license at all times in order to perform essential functions of the job.
  • Knowledge of regulatory interpretations, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, radiation safety
  • Knowledge in utilization of MS Office software including MS Word, Excel, and Access.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using the Cority® IH database.
  • Experience operating and maintaining instruments including sampling pumps, calibrators, noise dosimeters, and direct reading gas detection monitors.
