Purpose/Introduction

Information Technology at Chevron Phillips Chemical leads our Digital Journey.  The department is chartered to enable a smarter enterprise, establish a connected workforce, optimize access to key information and support our growing company. Responsibilities

  • Leads, motivates, and facilitates cross-functional teams in the development of information and data governance initiatives.
  • Maintain, develop, and refine policies, process and systems associated to data classification, data access, data control, and escalations.
  • Partner with IT, Internal Audit, legal and privacy teams to ensure proper data handling policies and procedures are followed and IT policies are aligned.
  • Assist in deploying tools and processes to gain better visibility into data use and governance and continually evolve company’s data discovery abilities.
  • Develop and maintain data maps to validate that the company has a clear understanding of where all sensitive data resides and who has access to that data.
  • Aid in incident response efforts due to data misuse and/or disclosures.
  • In conjunction with IT, business groups, analytics, and senior leadership, define and communicate a data governance roadmap.
  • Develop and implement data quality standards, data protection standards and adoption requirements across the organization.
  • Enforce data governance practices to uphold the value of the data access, within the company with regular audits

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum education of bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related Data Risk Management, Data Governance and/or Audit experience.
  • Data analytics experience, at least two years.
  • Experience in OneTrust, Salesforce, PowerBI or similar business systems.
  • Experience in audit/risk management methodologies and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOX, etc.) pertaining to information security, business continuity, data privacy, and/or data security.
  • Experience in policy and compliance management in information security, business continuity, data privacy, and/or data security.
  • Experience in presenting and/or delivering training to technical and non-technical professionals across domains/levels.
  • Strong IT Security mindset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong documentation and/or technical writing skills.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making ability.
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting.
  • Critical thinking/problem solving skills.
  • Team player, detail oriented, effective prioritization of multiple job tasks.
  • Able to drive assigned initiatives independently and to successful completion with minimal guidance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education of bachelor’s degree (Information Systems/Data Governance/Computer Science or related field).
  • 3+ years of experience working in Risk Management and Data Governance.
  • Knowledge of data ingestion, data warehouse, big data, data analytics, and business intelligence technology and methods.
  • Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC)
  • Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT)
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
  • Certified Data Protection (CDP)
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP)
