Purpose/Introduction

Chevron Phillips Chemical Company is seeking a IT Specialist, Identity and Access Management to join the Business Transformation organization at the corporate headquarters in The Woodlands, TX.  This position involves strategic leadership, technical expertise, and collaboration across departments to strengthen our security posture and ensure effective implementation of Identity and Access Management (IAM) best practices and compliance with security policies.

 

The IT Specialist, Identity and Access Management reports to the Manager, Identity, Vulnerability and Threat Management. The successful candidate will be instrumental in implementing and managing IAM solutions across both cloud and on-premises environments. They will collaborate with leaders across the organization to identify opportunities and risks, and to develop and deliver solutions that align with business objectives while enhancing our IAM landscape.

 

This position is eligible for the current hybrid work model (split of remote and office-based days).

Responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing scalable IAM solutions that align with business objectives and security policy. Provide ongoing support, administration, and continual development of the company’s identity and access management framework.
  • Identifying and mitigating risks associated with identity and access management
  • Colloborate with internal and external auditors during security reviews and assessments. Assure security configuration compliance with SOX standards and perform periodic user access reviews for Information Technology General Computer Controls.
  • Assist with development of strategy, roadmaps, policies and procedures to align with industry standards and regulations
  • Maintains up-to-date, detailed knowledge of the IT security industry including awareness of new or revised security solutions, improved security processes and the identification and resolution of vulnerabilities and threat vectors.
  • Managing and responding to IAM-related incidents and breaches.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot complex technical issues, perform root-cause analysis and provide resolution.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or related field)
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT related work
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with IAM technologies, especially around Identity Governance and Administration (IGA)
  • Strong experience with programming languages such as Java, and scripting languages such as Powershell, Javascript, VB, and Python.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership skills to mentor and guide team members and manage cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in managing complex IAM projects, including timelines, resources and budgets.
  • Strong inclination to work in Cybersecurity field
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong documentation and/or technical writing skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or a related field.
  • 7+ years or more of experience in IAM, Identity and Access Governance, or a closely related field.
  • Experience in configuring and deployment of IGA solutions. Proficiency in Identity and Access Governance (IAG) tools, such as Broadcom IGA is a plus.
  • Good knowledge of Web/Application servers (e.g. IIS, JBoss, Apache)
  • Strong technical knowledge of authentication and authorization including OIDC, SAML, OAuth, OpenID, LDAP
  • Working knowledge of Database such as MS SQL Server.
  • Hands-on experience on JSON, REST and SOAP
  • Strong understanding of IAM practices for Azure
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations such as GDPR, SOX, HIPAA
