The Finance Department aims to be a trusted partner that adds value by protecting the company’s financial integrity, guiding sound business decisions and offering enriching careers in a collaborative workplace. Finance oversees financial planning and fiscal management for Chevron Phillips Chemical including accounting, financing activities, planning, and tax compliance. The department provides financial information, policy analyses and recommendations that drive sound decision-making.


Chevron Phillips Chemical is seeking an Income Tax Analyst to join our team at our headquarters in The Woodlands, Texas.  The Income Tax Analyst reports to the Income Tax Supervisor and is primarily responsible for State & Federal income tax compliance for Chevron Phillips Chemical.  The analyst prepares various State and Federal Partnership return schedules and may support the preparation of international schedules. The analyst also assists in the monthly provision preparation and reporting process. The position works closely with the State Tax Analyst and Federal Tax Analyst and may assist other tax team members as needed.


  • Prepare State & Federal tax return schedules for the Partnership
  • Support State & Federal tax calculations
  • Support International compliance as needed
  • Assist in preparing the monthly tax provision
  • Research federal tax matters as needed
  • Other Tax responsibilities as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance with accounting concentration
  • Minimum of 3 years State tax compliance experience, State & Federal experience preferred.
  • Experience with a tax preparation software
  • Strong reconciliation, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to collaborate with others on cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work independently with good communication skills
  • A willingness to grow and learn

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong financial statement analysis skills
  • Experience with partnership returns
  • Experience with accounting computer systems (SAP)
  • Experience with Corptax
  • Advanced degree or working on an advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, or Taxation
  • CPA or CPA in process
