Job description

This position will report to the technical and market development manager and will support our Business Development and Commercial Organizations.  As a marketing analyst, you will be an integral part of a high-performing team exploring a broad range of markets in the Specialty Chemical Industry.  The primary responsibilities will be to manage and lead market analysis efforts, collaborate across the commercial and research organizations to organize and communicate critical information to the team, to grow business development capabilities and opportunities.  Travel is required up to 10% of time.

 

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Knowledge source for various areas specifically related to the industries and applications associated with the Specialty Chemicals Business Unit in order to support sales, product management, customer service, product development, product commercialization and identification of new products and/or applications
  • Lead analysis efforts across various markets in the Specialty Chemical Industry. 
  • Responsible for gathering, organizing and presenting information, and communicating the state of the markets to the commercial team. 
  • Understand product portfolio and identify new or adjacent market opportunities
  • Manage team gathering news, reports and other information to support commercial understanding of relevant industries, customers and events.
  • Engage with R&D to align new product and process development efforts with market need.
  • Communicate complex thoughts and ideas in a clear and concise manner to management.
  • Develop and maintain relationships throughout the organization.
  • Support and participate in ad-hoc analysis.
  • Support growth initiatives of the Specialty Chemicals Business Unit through participation in market research and conferences
  • Develop new opportunities through ideation of new products and find new applications for existing products

 

 

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s in Marketing, Finance, Business, Engineering, Chemistry or related field  
  • 2+ years of experience of market analysis or commercial experience
  • Highly efficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to create visually compelling presentations that quickly communicate business initiatives
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with peers, customers, and business partners.
  • Strong verbal, written, and graphical communication skills with the ability to communicate proactively and effectively in technical and non-technical business environments.
  • Track record of bringing innovative ideas to the market
