Chevron Phillips Chemical is currently seeking an Accounts Payable Supervisor to join our team at our Headquarters location in The Woodlands, Texas.  The selected candidate will report to the Accounts Payable Manager and will be primarily responsible for the supervision of up to ten direct reports.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for supervising all payables processors, accounting assistants and clerks who cover domestic plant activities, projects office and headquarters
  • Oversee vendor accounts to ensure they are paid timely and accurately
  • Responsible for troubleshooting, monthly analytical reporting, and training
  • Responsible for publication of Accounts Payable Metrics to Management including root cause analysis and collaboration with other departments
  • Provide supervision, performance management functions, and work direction to direct reports
  • Responsible for monitoring responses to vendor inquiries for timely and complete resolution
  • Responsible for monitoring that adequate research and investigation is taken for possible duplicate or overpayments
  • Responsible for monitoring that SAP validation activity is performed accurately and timely
  • Monitor compliance within the SOX framework for Accounts Payable key controls
  • Reconciliation of general ledger payable balance sheet accounts using Blackline
  • Works collaboratively with the Freight Payables Supervisor who also reports to the Accounts Payable Manager
  • Works with SAP IT Support Team for system related issues, FIT testing and system upgrades as needed
  • Special projects as directed by the Accounts Payable Manager

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or High School Diploma
  • 3+ years of supervisory and 5+ years of accounts payable experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of related work experience
  • Must have demonstrated qualities of meeting deadlines and performing accurate work with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency with SAP FI/CO, SAP Ariba or comparable ERP system, preferably in Accounts Payable
  • Proficiency in MS Excel for data analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to understand and address internal and external customer issues using proactive resolution with tactful communication
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and lead others by example
  • Ability to manage multiple direct reports including determination of work schedule, training, coaching, development, performance management and mentoring
  • Should be able and willing to work overtime as required to meet deadlines

 

Preferrred Qualifications:

 

  • Experience with Power BI Dashboards
  • Experience with resolution of service entry issues
