Chevron Phillips Chemical Intern, Telecommunications program is designed to give hands-on experience in a real-world business environment while interfacing with CPChem professionals to learn about employment opportunities, to gain knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to be successful in a business environment while supporting the organization’s mission, vision, and values. On-the-job experience includes working on assignments, projects, and activities of varying complexity. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Intern will be required to lead and execute a minimally supervised ~70-day telecommunications project to gain better understanding of the business, project management, products, services, and customers this team supports.  

  • Participate in planning and implementing in accordance with directions, timeframes, scope, and policies and budget. 

  • Participate in day-to-day operations and perform job-related tasks as assigned. 

  • Assist with document preparation and review. 

  • Gain proficiency in internal software and database systems. 

  • Propose suggestions for improving customer service or internal processes. 

  • Attend and participate in meetings and training. 

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

  • Maintain attendance to support required quality and quantity of work. 

  • Adhere to deadlines and effectively manage tasks. 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Ability to work both independently and in teams.

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products, such as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States and will not now or in the future require sponsorship by the employer
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or higher degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline
  • Available to work a minimum of eight continuous weeks

 

 Preferred:

  • Cellular phone or telecommunications experience preferred
