Purpose

At Chevron Phillips Chemical (CPChem), the attraction, development and retention of the best talent is a key strategic focus. As a member of the Human Resources Department’s Global Talent team, reporting to the Global Talent Manager, CPChem’s Talent Management Specialist plays an integral role in driving processes and practices that support our strategy.  This role is a master collaborator with business stakeholders, HR Business Partners and Learning & Development professionals.  The successful candidate will be well organized, detail oriented, and possess strategic thinking skills with strong analytical acumen.   This is an excellent opportunity to deliver high-impact outcomes that will ensure a healthy talent pipeline now into the future.

 

This position is eligible for the current hybrid work model (split of remote and office-based days).

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the HR Business Partner community to provide guidance to ensure effective execution of the annual Succession Planning and Performance Management processes.  This includes establishing and communicating timelines, serving as subject matter expert for Talent Management leading practices and providing refresher training, as applicable
  • Manage the potential assessment process, to include tool administration (as applicable) and translation of results for Talent Review and employee development purposes.
  • Leverage data and analytics to measure talent strategy success, using storytelling to synthesize information and effectively convey outcomes of data analysis.
  • Lead Talent Management processes with a continuous improvement mindset, adapting approaches as dictated by business needs, to ensure a healthy talent pipeline.
  • Support the Talent Management Governance structure, which includes leading the coordination of content for Talent Management Council and Talent Stewardship meetings.
  • Support select organization-wide groups and initiatives consistent with organizational capability objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum education of bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in HR Business Partner, Organizational Development, or Talent Management roles
  • Experience designing, administering, and supporting Talent Management processes to include talent identification, succession planning, performance management and development planning
  • Demonstrated ability to link business challenges to talent needs and create solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as are essential for success in this role
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities while balancing quality with on-time delivery in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and possesses a strong sense of ownership for scope of work and can work independently
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SuccessFactors Performance Management and Succession modules
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development or related field
